Overview

We’re introducing a new online cancellation form to help clubs stay compliant with the FTC’s Click to Cancel regulation. This new feature ensures that members who sign up for online memberships can easily cancel them through a similarly accessible online process.

What’s Changing?

Clubs that sell memberships online are now required to offer a clear and simple way for members to cancel memberships online as well. Our new cancel portal form provides a streamlined and compliant method for handling these requests.

  • Compliance built-in: Designed to meet the latest FTC requirements for online cancellations.
  • Automated notifications: Clubs receive immediate alerts when a cancellation request is submitted to the email you provide.

 

How It Works

  1. A member visits your cancellation page.
  2. They fill out a short form confirming their intent to cancel. Any member can submit the form, even if their membership was not purchased online.
  3. You receive the request via email (or through your cancellation report, coming soon!)
  4. You can then follow up or process the cancellation according to your policies.

 

How to Enable the Cancellation Form

To activate this feature for your club, follow the steps below:

  1. Configure the desired email address for cancellation requests in Client Preferences > Member > Member Preference > Cancellation request email
  2. Access the link from offer builder using the dropdown in the upper right corner
  3. Add the link to your webpage - Note: the cancellation form must be easy to find to meet the FTC requirements.

Once you have completed these steps, you will receive email notifications for any requests submitted through your page.

 

FAQs

Can cancellation requests be viewed in a report from ASF? This feature will be available in May as part of the existing cancellation report!

Am I required to process the cancellation? For more information on the ruling and guidance on processing cancellations, please refer to the HFA brief.
